Do you struggle with the concept of God being sovereign over salvation? What do you do when faced with verses like this?
“And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.” Acts 13:48.
Do you ignore them? Do you glance over them quickly and move on to something more palatable? Or do you honestly stop, ponder, and wrestled with the text to understand its true meaning?
Ed Moore does an excellent job of explaining this verse and clearly showing that God is indeed sovereign over salvation. But he also has a message for those who hold to the Doctrines of Grace and warns against becoming arrogant and proud.
We who call ourselves Calvinist must realize that God alone opened our eyes to this glorious truth and therefore we should be like the man Moses. “Now the man Moses was very meek, more than all people who were on the face of the earth.” (Numbers 12:3).
